💳 Payments Processing (Stripe)
When you make an investment on DealMaker, your payment is processed through a secure third-party provider. In most cases, DealMaker uses Stripe to process credit card and bank-to-bank (ACH) transactions.
This article explains what Stripe is, how it fits into the DealMaker process, and what to expect after submitting payment.
🔐 What Is Stripe?
Stripe is a globally trusted payment processing platform that enables secure, compliant online transactions. DealMaker integrates with Stripe to:
Accept credit and debit card payments
Facilitate ACH (U.S. bank-to-bank) transfers
Verify payment details in real time
Ensure compliance with financial regulations
📌 DealMaker does not store or handle your payment information directly — Stripe processes all sensitive payment data.
Does Every Payment Go Through Stripe?
Card payments (Visa, Mastercard, Discover) and ACH bank transfers are processed through Stripe.
Wire transfers work differently. Wire payments are received into a dedicated Wells Fargo bank account and are not processed through Stripe's payment system in the same way as card or ACH. Once your wire is received and matched to your investment, your Stripe-linked dashboard will reflect the payment — but the wire itself travels through the banking system directly.
This is why wire transfer processing times are determined by your bank, not by Stripe.
⚙️ What Happens After I Submit a Payment?
Once you authorize a payment through the DealMaker platform:
Stripe processes the transaction securely in the background
You will see an on-screen confirmation and receive an email summary
The payment status in your dashboard will update to reflect one of the following:
Pending – Payment is initiated but not yet confirmed
Funded – Payment has been successfully processed
Failed – Payment could not be completed (e.g., card declined or bank error)
⏳ How Long Does It Take?

Credit Card | Immediate to 1 business day |
ACH Transfer | 2–5 business days (may vary by bank) |
Wire Transfer | Domestic: same business day. International: 1–2 business days. Not Stripe-processed — travels directly through the banking system. Timing is set by your bank. |
📬 Delays may occur due to bank holidays, verification needs, or incorrect information.
❓ What If My Payment Fails?
If your payment fails:
You will receive an email notification from DealMaker
You can return to your dashboard to retry the payment or choose another method
In some cases, you may be prompted to re-verify your identity or update your billing information
