Wire Reference Number — What It Is and Why It Matters

Learn about the importance of the Reference Number when doing a wire transfer.

When you fund your investment via wire transfer, your wire instructions include a reference or memo number. Here's what it does and what to do if you forget to include it.

What Is the Reference Number?

The reference number is a unique identifier that links your wire payment to your specific investment on DealMaker. Including it in the memo or reference field of your wire allows your payment to be automatically matched to your subscription.

Where to Find It

Your reference number is included in:

- The wire instructions shown on your payment page at checkout

- The wire instructions email sent to you after you select wire transfer

What Happens If I Forget to Include It?

Your wire can still be received and processed — our banking partner is generally able to match incoming wires even without a reference number. However, the process may take longer and require manual intervention.

To avoid any delay, always include the reference number exactly as shown in your wire instructions.

If you've already sent a wire without the reference number, contact DealMaker Support with:

- Your name and email address

- The offering name

- The wire amount and date sent

We'll help match your payment to your investment.
