The easiest and fastest way to confirm your accreditation is to upload a letter signed by an accountant/lawyer/broker-dealer/investment advisor, template letter can be found HERE.
However, the following are alternative methods for joint investor, one of the following options required:
If you are investing jointly with your spouse, both investors must qualify and verify themselves as an accredited investor by providing one of the below:
Option 1: Proof of Net Worth
Any document(s) showing your net worth exceeds $1M USD either individually or together with your spouse - must be dated within the past 90 days the date of the request. Acceptable documents include:
- Bank statements
- Brokerage account statements
- IRA account statements
- Cryptocurrency account statements
- Any other document showing marketable assets
Option 2: Proof of Annual Income
Any documents showing your personal annual income is above $200,000 USD (or $300,000 USD with your spouse) for the previous 2 tax years. Acceptable documents include:
- Income tax returns
- W2s
- 1099s
Option 3: Proof of FINRA License & Qualification
Any proof and/or documentation that you currently maintain one of the following FINRA licenses (see SEC rules here):
- Series 7
- Series 65
- Series 82
Note: If you are investing jointly with someone that is not your spouse, both investors may use their individual spouses to assist with their personal accreditation.
