If you have an IRA account which you would like to use to fund your investments, you may use this on your DealMaker checkout. Please note that your IRA provider may have specific rules about using the IRA funds for investments. In order to ensure that the investment will go through smoothly, please confirm with your provider that you may use funds from your IRA to complete the investment you are interested in.
In order to indicate that the investment will be funded by and registered to an IRA account, please select “IRA” as the profile type.
Once you have selected “IRA”, you will be asked to input your provider. Because the information of your provider (name, address, EIN, etc.) will be required to correctly register your securities, we have listed some common options. Please only select a provider if you have an existing IRA account with them. Your account number with the provider is specific to you, so you will need to fill this information in.
If you have an existing IRA account, but with a different provider, please select “other” from the dropdown. This will ask you to fill in your provider’s information. Please note that the funding instructions will be sent directly to your provider, using the email address you enter into the “IRA Email Address” field.
In addition to the provider information, you will be asked to fill in your personal details, for the purpose of registering your securities and meeting standard regulations. Please ensure that your personal details match the information you have on file with your IRA provider.
Because the funds must be released by your IRA provider, there is no direct funding action to be taken at the end of this checkout. Rather, once you confirm all information and agree to the terms and conditions, your information, as well as the funding instructions, will be sent to your provider. If you entered your provider details manually, the instructions and information packet will be sent to the email address you entered, so please ensure this is the correct address for your provider to action an investment. If you would like to confirm your investment is being actioned, you may reach out to your provider as well to ensure they have received the instructions and are able to action the investment.
Because your provider will send a wire transfer according to the instructions they received, it may take several days for your investment to be funded. You may return to your DealMaker dashboard at any time to check on the status of your investment. When the funds are received from your IRA provider, the status of your investment will be updated to reflect that it has been fully funded, and you will receive an email notification of this as well. Due to the fact that your provider is sending a wire transfer to fund your investment, you may check with your provider if they have sent the wire transfer to confirm that it is in transit.
