A "foreign transaction fee" is a charge, usually 3 percent, that many credit card issuers and payment networks add for each transaction made on your credit card abroad. It is charged by your credit card provider for a transaction, not DealMaker.
If you have been charged a “Foreign Transaction Fee” there are two options:
1.) you can call your credit card provider to investigate the foreign transaction fee and see if it is possible to have this amount changed. If you provide your company contact or email@example.com further information on why the credit card provider processed this as a foreign transaction we are happy to assist you with trying to have the transaction recategorized.
Please DO NOT process this as a "chargeback" as that will add complications on our end to the process and will impede you from investing in future deals on our platform.
2.) you can skip step (1) and we can process a refund for the funds that were submitted. This should remove any associated charges by your bank including the "Foreign transaction fee" they have charged. You can then fund your investment using a different payment method.
